The building has a brick exterior and a blue door.There are, and have been, many local characters who have all contributed to the community of Bilsdale.  We celebrate them here. William Ainsley, licensed retailer in British and foreign wines, spirits, ale, porter and tobacco. Cricket club secretary for 66 years. “A gentle, industrious and truly delightful man”. Remembered by Mike Amos in the Northern Echo and by Alyson Jackson, a relative.
