Ingleby, Bilsdale and Helmsley Railway

On 17th November, 1874 a notice was placed in the London Gazette indicating a Company’s intention to make an application to Parliament for premission to build a new railway from Ingleby Greenhow to Helmsley.  This would pass through Bilsdale before entering a tunnel near Newgate bank.  Extracts from the plans are set out below.
